Decarbonisation Resources
Congratulations on completing a carbon footprint calculation with Count Your Carbon! Now it’s time to produce your Decarbonisation Plan. Your Decarbonisation Plan should set out the practical steps your setting will take over the next 1–3 years to reduce your carbon emissions.
We’ve produced some resources to help you on your journey, download them below to get started.
Decarbonisation Guide
This guide has been developed to support you in creating a tailored Decarbonisation Plan for your setting. Designed to be used alongside the Count Your Carbon Decarbonisation Planner linked below, it will help you understand and interpret your carbon footprint report, identify focus areas for emissions reduction, and prioritise actions for your setting.
Decarbonisation Planner
The decarbonisation planner spreadsheet contains over 100
actions that span all operational areas, each with varying levels
of impact, expenditure, and implementation requirements.
Actions are categorised and presented alongside several key
metrics, which allow you to easily filter the actions, helping you to identify the most appropriate measures to include in your decarbonisation plan.
Self-led Energy Audit
This Self-Led Energy Audit is a starting point intended to help you identify opportunities to reduce your energy usage and improve your energy efficiency. By answering the 29 questions in this document, you will generate a shortlist of actions that may be suitable for your school or setting. All of the actions listed within this resource are featured in our Decarbonisation Planner. Once you’ve generated a shortlist of actions, head back to the Decarbonisation Planner to find out more about what the actions involve, and select those which feel most appropriate to add to your Decarbonisation Plan.
